If you’re feeling overwhelmed with your first tattoo decision or in need of inspiration for your next ink, look no further than flash tattoos. Flash tattoos are the perfect solution, whether you desire a timeless style or a unique and tiny design.
A flash tattoo is a ready-to-go design that can be inked immediately. When you visit our Montreal tattoo studio for a flash tattoo, our artists typically have a sheet or book displaying their flash designs. These designs are often popular among people and offer a wide selection for you to choose from. With flash tattoos, you can explore the world of tattoo art without committing to a fully customized design. They tend to be smaller and simpler, making them more accessible and easier to execute. If you’re looking for a tattoo that can be completed quickly and in a single session, a flash tattoo is the perfect choice.
At Colibri Tattoo & Piercing, we want to make tattoo more affordable for anyone who loves this art. That’s why we offer Open Studio Special on Wednesday. You’ll get 25% off on any tattoo designs. There is no need for booking an appointment, the tattoo special is only available for walk-in, and is a first come, first served basis. Should you have any question, feel free to give us a call.
Tattoos on hands, fingers, and wrists fade faster than any other body part because we wash, expose, and use our hands and fingers more frequently. Their skin is unique and will react differently to the ink as a result. Also, Your hands and fingers have extremely varied skin types (fat parts, bony parts, thin and thick sections), which may cause the ink to possibly blow out and fade in a splotchy pattern. Due to differences in how the ink settles, fading will occur swiftly and unevenly.
It will be somewhat uncomfortable. The intensity of discomfort varies based on a number of variables, including the area of the body being tattooed, how well you’ve been eating and sleeping, your general pain tolerance, etc. Before your appointment, we advise getting a good night’s sleep and eating a healthy meal. The nervous system can be significantly calmed throughout your tattoo with even, relaxed breathing.
Absolutely! Although, some of our artists are available by appointment only, we usually have at least one artist available for walk ins. Simply drop by during business hours, and we should be able to assist you if you don’t have a preference for the tattoo artist who will be performing your tattoo. Walk-ins are first come, first served, so there can be a short wait depending on how busy it becomes. To find out if someone will be available when you want to stop in, we advise calling ahead on the day you want to visit. Or if you prefer to reserve a specific day, time, or artist, it is always best to schedule an appointment in advance.

If the tattoo or tattooed area feels uncomfortable or sore during your workout, you should wait a day or two before attempting to work out again.
Most tattoos heal completely in two to three weeks (sometimes less, sometimes more). It is important to avoid any water-related activities (baths, swimming or surfing in oceans or pools, hot tubs, etc.) while your body heals.
We offer tattoo aftercare products in our shop, but we also advise using coconut oil or unscented lotions to speed up the healing of your tattoos.
We have artists on board with expertise in cover-up work. Typically, a consultation is required, especially if the tattoo you’re covering is large or particularly black. The outcome of your tattoo depends on many factors, including how well you take care of it! After the session an artist will cover your tattoo with a transparent waterproof bandage that is called “second skin” that will protect it from bacteria and infections. We recommend keeping it on for 3-5 days (no more than that). If it collects much plasma and slips off prior to that you can replace it with a new piece after cleaning the tattoo with lukewarm water. Be careful when removing the second skin, because your tattoo is still fresh and tender. Start peeling off from the corner and slowly make your way down by pulling it diagonally. We recommend keeping the bandage for a couple more days after replacing it. It is crucial to follow these steps as the first few days is key for successful healing.
After 5 days, remove the second skin and wash it off again. Let it dry and apply a thin layer of aftercare lotion. A tattoo aftercare ointment must be water-based, unscented and free of petroleum ingredients. At our studio we have some high-quality aftercare creams for sale that you could use. Apply 2-3 times daily until it is fully healed. The full healing process usually takes around 3 weeks.
Do not take a bath because soaking a tattoo will negatively affect the healing. Quick showers are fine but make sure the water is not too hot.
Avoid workouts and excessive sweating for the entire healing process. Also, stay away from pools, lakes, saunas and beaches as it is a great risk to get infected. Lastly, the tattooing process leaves your skin sensitive to the UV rays. Therefore, exposure to the sun may dry your tattoo out and make it fade. Long term sun protection is key to keeping the lines of your tattoo smooth and defined.
After a few days, your tattoo may start to flake and become itchy. Continue to moisturize and do not pick or scratch.
If your tattoo is still red and swollen at this point, you might have an infection. Go back to your tattoo artist or see a doctor.
After a couple of weeks, the itchiness and big flakes must go away. You will notice some dead skin, but it will eventually fall off too.
